High Sierra Painting Workshop at Elwell Lakes Lodge

September 7 and 8, 2019


Watercolor and acrylic instruction for

Beginning to advanced painters


Come explore water media in the beautiful and historic setting of Elwell Lakes Lodge in the shadow of majestic Red Firs and Jeffery Pines.  Learn new painting techniques in the rustic Dining Hall and visit the beautiful Lakes Basin Recreation Area with its many pristine lakes. Two days of classroom instruction and plein air painting will be offered.  Lodging for two or more nights can be reserved in the lodge cabins which include kitchen facilities.


Tuition includes lessons from 9:30 to 12:30 with some materials provided.    The cost of the workshop is $35.00 each day. Spaces are limited.

Instructor Margie Miller has been teaching watercolor and acrylic painting for over 25 years.  A graduate of the art department at UC Davis, she did postgraduate work in fine arts at the Oregon School of Arts and Crafts.  In 1999 she was awarded the Nevada County Art Educator of the Year.  Her paintings are in private collections and public buildings throughout the west.
